Just who is Uncafunk?

Uncafunk, aka Frank Funk is Frank Sumares in real life. Frank is a music instructor at Chabot College and Stanford University. Frank has written the textbook "CONTEMPORARY JAZZ PIANO FROM VOICINGS TO IMPROVISATION." Educators throughout the U.S., as well as Australia, Brazil and Japan have used his book. Frank's book with CD is available here.

Frank is a pianist and composer/arranger.

As a music instructor Frank adjudicates at numerous school jazz festivals throughout California. He has been asked to come to schools and work with the band as well as the rhythm sections in preparation for festivals and other performances.
